Learning Augmentation Programme

G.E.C. has launched four years learning Augmentatins programme in addition to academic studies with a view to prepare students for placements in corporate, public or government sector. The programme starts from orientation training and Will be concluded after Placement of a student in the desired company/organization.


Industrial-Institute interaction & On-The-Job Training

1. Second year students are undergoing on the job training as part of Industrial-Institute interaction programme. The unique features of the programme are:

  1. Visit of three industries: Hotline, A.V.N Tubes and Godrej.
  2. Study of organizational pattern and infrastructure.
  3. Study of role of engineers in organization.
  4. Analyzing problem areas
  5. Undertaking projects of value.

2. Students have undertaken following projects:

  1. Reduction in Brake down time
  2. Minimizing wastage rate
  3. Designing of jigs& fixtures to increase rate of production
  4. Software programme for automation of shop floor machines.
  5. Designing of cutting & welding system for improving production rate and ensuring quality assurance.

3. The projects have been undertaken by a team of students from Mechanical, Electronic and Computer Science.

Summary Report :

Gwalior Engineering College organized 2 days State Level Literary Competitins of colleges affiliated to RGPV in the events for Debate (Hindi & English), Essay writing (Hindi & English), Group discussion (Hindi & English), Extempore (Hindi & English), Self composed poem (Hindi & English) to develop the essentials in terms of competitions. In these competitions more than 12 colleges participated & around 200 students gathered.

In Debate (Hindi) Pratyush Bharadwaj (GEC prize for Essay Writing (Hindi) went to Mithali Shrivastava (I.I.T.M.) & Essay writing (English) Pinku Ansari (I.I.T.M.), Group Discussion (Hindi) first prize for Pratyush Bhardwaj (GEC) & Group Discussion (English) Aditya Dutta (I.T.M.), Extempore (Hindi) Vinod Purnina (RJIT) & Extempore Rajul Awasthi (RJIT), in last results of self composed Poem (English) were like Nishit Saraswat (I.I.T.M.) & Self Composed Poem (Hindi) Ajay Pratap Singh (R.J.I.T.)

Hon'ble Shri Narayan Singh Kushwah social welfare Minister, M.P. Government was the chief Guest at closing ceremony. He appreciated the efforts of the student and distributed the prize for the winner. Gwalior Engineering College (Host of the Event) gained 23 points & achieved top position, Second was ITM by scoring 19 points, on third position RJIT got 14 points. The presentation of students was worth appreciating, it shows a great talent exists in the professional institutes of Gwalior.

Summary Report :

Chief Guest Col. M.K. Gupta commander and Guest of Honor Lt. Col S.S. Vats inaugurated the function. Chief Guest appreciated for organizing such a mega-event useful for boosting and helping students for their overall development and physical fitness. Dr. L.M. Saxena, Director of Gwalior Engineering College, welcomed. Later the participants presented the march past on tunes of the BSF Band. The salute of march past was taken by Col. M.K. Gupta and it was followed by oath ceremony.

A four days' sports meet was held at the sports complex of Gwalior Engineering College. The events organized were Chess, Badminton ((Boys, Girls & mixed doubles), Kabaddi, Athletics (B & G) (100m, 200m, 400m, 1500m), Discuss Throw (B & G), Javelin Throw (B&G), Long Jump (B & G), High Jump (B & G) Shot put (B & G) etc. These events were held simultaneously at three places. In these competitons more than 20 colleges & near about 600 students were to participate.

In Javelin throw (G) Divya Sharma from R.J.I.T. and Javelin Throw (B) Sibgutullah Khan from R.J.I.T won Ist Prize. Long Jump (B) S. Sahay from R.J.I.T. and Long Jump (G) Divya Sharma from R.J.I.T. got 1st prize and Shotput (B) Anuranjan Singh from R.J.I.T won first prize. In Race 100m (B), Vivek Singh from R.J.I.T., 1500M (B) Vinod Puniya from R.J.I.T. got first prize. In Discuss Throw (G) Jyoti Bhatt from R.J.I.T. and Discuss Throw (B) Anuranjan from R.J.I.T. won first prize. In Badminton (B) Vijay S. Tomar, Deependra, Anshul from N.I.T.M. and Badminton Double (G) Suman, Amrita from R.J.I.T., Badminton Mix Double Rahul, Suman got first prize. In Chess Ashish Sharma, Ravi Ranjan Tiwari, Shubha Duwasa, Vinish Nair from GEC got second prize.

The closing ceremony was held in which DIG BSF Shri S.S. Jodha Chief Guest & Gwalior SP Shri Jaydeep Prasad were the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony. All the Guest present on the occasion, appreciated the efforts of the students and distributed the prizes. The maximum prizes won by R.J.I.T., got first position, Gwalior Engineering College (Host of the Event) got second prize & third position went to N.R.I.I.T.M. The vote of thanks were proposed by GEC Advisor & Coordinator of the event Dr. G.P. Bhatnagar.
